Tirupati 8, March 2017: The Women of India have occupied a pride place since ages and their empowerment has reached many folds today as the women are excelling in all fields, said TTD Trust Board Chief Dr Ch Krishnamurthy.

The International Women’s Day was observed with aplomb by TTD women employees under the aegis of Welfare Wing of TTD in Mahati auditorium on Wednesday.

Speaking on this occasion, the TTD Chairman said, the Hindu Sanatana Dharma has emerged from vedas which highlight the importance given to women. “Our country has achieved remarkable overall progress only because it gives equal importance to women and men “, he observed.

In his address, TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, “Be bold and fight for change”, is the theme of International women’s day this year. “Today the women are competing in all fields on part with men and even doing marvelous jobs. For instance in Tirumala, our health, annaprasadam, vigilance wings are being headed by women officers who are executing their duties with excellency. Even in Srivari Seva voluntary service, over 75% of volunteers are women who are rendering excellent services to pilgrims. We welcome the women employees who come forward to take up challenging jobs”, he added.

TTD Trust Board member Sri G Bhanuprakash Reddy described every woman equal to Jhansi Ki Rani, Warrior queen Rudrama Devi and said, the students should take inspiration from them.

In his speech, Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar said, the UNO has recently stated that by 2030 women should achieve equal opportunities on par with men in all fields. “All our girl students should strive hard in this direction”, he aspired.

The entire premises of Mahati auditorium was spell bound by the magical voice of Smt Vani Jayaram, the renowned play back singer sung couple of songs of Annamacharya in a melodious way on Goddess Padmavathi Devi and Lord Venkateswara. She said, in fact during the inauguration of Mahati Auditorium about 12 years ago, she performed a musical concert.

Delivering an extempore speech, Smt Bharatiyam Satyavani called up on every girl and women to first identify the vast opportunities surrounding them. “Sky is the limit. We should be in forefront to grab all the opportunities to showcase our talents. We should compete in the modern world but at the same time we should not forget our mother, mother tongue, mother land and our sanatana dharma as Women are the Balancing Force of the creation”, she asserted.

The ISRO scientists duo Smt Nandini Harnath and Smt Neeta Tirumal shared their experience of being associated with the most prestigious 104 Indigenous Satellite Mission and Mangalyaan. They called up on the students to take up avenue in space science.

In her address Dr Rekha, family physician said, the women should become self reliant. ”I wish all the students to identify their embedded talents and become pioneers in this modern age in their respective fields”, she added.

Later cultural programs by women employees of TTD belonging to various institutions took place. Over 100 women employees including Deputy EOs to Class IV employees who will be retiring in the year 2017 March till 2018 February have also been felicitated on this occasion.
