GRAND CONCLUSION OF 100TH BIRTH CENTENARY OF MS SUBBULAKSHMI

Tirupati,16 Sep. 16: TD Chairman Dr C Krishnamurthy today described well known carnatic music exponent as a greatest devotee of Lord Srinivasa and there were no parallels for her Amruta ganam in the world.

He was participating in the valedictory of the three day music festival got up by the SV music and dance college as part of MS centenary celebrations.

He said all over India and also world many families woke up in the morning to the recital of Venkatesa Suprabhatam sung by her. The annamayya kirtans sung by her in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu are still unparalleled and the TTD had rightly made her Asthana Vidwans in true recognition of her contribution to TTD.

The classical music has always been a successful custodian of Indian vedas and holy literature and contribution of MS Subbulakshmi in that direction was immense he added.

TTD chairman felicitated Sri K R Athmaraman, Secretary of MS, Mrunda Chakravati Sri T K Murthy and Smt Arundhati Sircar, a prominent musician of Visakhapatnam on the occasion.

Earlier the TTD chairman garlanded the bronze statue of Smt MS Subbulakshmi near RTC bus stand.

In the morning the students and teachers of SV Music and Dance college led by Smt Vanda and ,Smt Prabhavati and Sri M Sudhakar presented some 10 kirtans of Thyagaraja and Annamayya.

Besides YVS Padmavathi, principal of SV Music and Dance college, prominent music lovers and artists of Tirupati participated in the event
