7th EDITION OF SRI RAMANUJA RATHA YATRA IN TAMIL NADU

• Seventh edition of Bhagat Ramanuja Ratha yatra commences
• Ratha Yatra visiting 22 Divya desham(Srivaishanite temples) in Tamilnadu
• Srinivasa Kalyanams held at Kanchipuram,Sriperumbudur and Chennai

Tirupati, 5 February 2017: The seventh edition of the popular Sri vaishnavite saint Bhagavat Sri Ramanujacharya conducted as part of the 1000th anniversary celebrations commenced this morning.

The Ratha yatra will cover 22 devotional centres in Tamil nadu for the next six days . The Rath yatra carrying the utsava idols of Sridevi, Bhudevi and Malayappa swamy commenced on Sri Ramanujacharyas birth annivesary on May 10th.

The Ratha yatra kicked off at 7AM this morning from the Madhavam guest house in Tirupati after special pujas and is slated to touch Sholingavaram (Sri Yoganarasimha swamy temple and later Sri Varadaraja perumal temple at Kancheepuram where a special Srinivasa Kalyanam will be performed for the benefit of devotees of the temple town.

On Febriary 6 the Ratha Yatra will touch Sri Adikesava Perumal temple at Astabhayakaram and Sri Yatotari Temple in Tiruvakkam and Sri Ahagaya singar perumal temple at Tiruvelukka and Sri Dipa Prakasar Perumal temple in Tirutanaka and Sri Adi Varaha Perumal temple at Tirukkallanur and Sri Ulagalam Perumala temple at Tiruorgam Sri Jagadiswaram Temple of Tiruneragam and Sri Karunakar Perumal temple at Tirkaraam.

On February 7 the ratha yatra will touch the Sri vaishavite temples in divya desam of Tirukkarvanam, Vinnagaram, Tiruvelavannam, Tirunilatingaltundam, Tirupadagam, and Tirutekkaji.

On February 8 it will touch Sri vaishnavite temples of Sri Perumbudur and Srinivasa kalyanam will be celebrated at the temple town.

On February 9 Ratha yatra will travel to Madhurantakam and Srinivasa kalyanam will be celebrated at the temple town in a grand manner.

On February 10 the Sri Ramanuja Ratha yatra will touch five more Sri vaishanvite temples and return to Chennai by night and a special Srinivasa Kalyanam will be performed in the state capital.

The TTD has appealed to devotees from all sections of the society to utilize the opportunity and participate in the Srinivasa Kalyanams and also the Ratha Yatras to beget the blessings of the Lord Venkateswara.
