PUJA PERFORMED AT AKKAGARLA GUDI

TIRUMALA, NOV 21: Special Puja has been performed under the aegis of TTD Transport department at Akkagarla Gudi in the First Ghat road on Friday.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju who graced the function, speaking on the occasion said, from the past six years TTD has been performing special puja to these folk deities cave temple, which is located near the Avvachary Kona Valley that has a picturesque landscape.

“The management has initiated steps to remove the traffic congestion on the road skirting the ‘Avvachary Kona Valley’ on the old Tirumala ghat road. There is an age old belief among the pilgrims trekking this route, that these folk deities will protect the pilgrims to reach their destination safely and also avoid road accidents and they used to offer prayers after reaching this point on foot.

TTD has also made the special puja a customary event since 2008. From last year onwards, we have been observing this event during the auspicious month of Karthika and seeking the blessings of these deities for a safe and pleasant journey of a pilgrim”, the JEO maintained.

Transport GM Sri Sesha Reddy, Kalyanakatta Deputy EO Sri Krishna Reddy, DI Tirumala Sri Naidu and other staff members of transport department were also present.
