GRAND CELEBRATION OF SRIVARI METLOTSAVAM

Tirupati, 16 Sep. 16: The holy devotional festival of Metloutsavam was performed in a colorful manner with the energetic participation of artisans of Bhajan Mandals under the auspices of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad.

Nearly 800 artistes from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam particiapted in the event with the recital of Govinda Nama smaranam all along the walkers path to Tirumala.

First they all walked from the Sri Govindaraja temple choultry to Alipiri padala mandapam under leadership of Sri N Muktheswar Rao, Secretary of HDPP and OSD and Dasa Sahitya project Sri PR Anandathirthacharya and performed Metla puja.

Speaking on the occasion Sri Muktheswara Rao said here after metla utsavam will be performed four times a year to provide an opportunity to all bhajan mandals and also to promote the sanathana hindu traditions.

All the bhajan mandal artists will present a special bhajans at the Pournami Garuda seva this evening at mada streets and urged devotees together in large number and beget the blessings of Lord Srinivasa.

OSD of Dasa Sahitya Project Sri PR Anandatheerthachaya narrated the significance of Metlotsavam in the annals of Tirumala. All bhajan mandal artists will walk up to Tirumala with singing of bhajans all through their journey.
