AADHAR MANDATED FOR ID PURPOSE ONLY-TIRUMALA JEO

Tirumala, 20 July 2016: Tirumala Jeo Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju has cleared that TTD has made Aadhar card mandatory for Anga Pradakshinam tickets only for identity purpose and no curbs has been put on pilgrims with the introduction of this ID card system.

Addressing media persons in his office in CRO in Tirumala on Wednesday, the JEO said, the new system has come into effect from today onwards (July 20). The JEO said, this has been introduced only to establish the identity of pilgrims and nothing else. The tokens will be issued to 750 pilgrims on first come first basis only”, he stressed.

Over the re opening of PAC IV for pilgrims, the JEO said, the PAC IV (old Annaprasadam complex) will become full operational with luggage counters from Friday onwards. “We have already opened the PAC IV as per the instructions of our Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday itself who inspected the place. However the luggage counters will come in the utility of the pilgrims from Friday onwards”, he reiterated.

Adding further he said, “For us the convenience of the pilgrims is top priority. So we are also contemplating to set up more and more jalaprasadam units. Already the ones at Srivari Mettu, Alipiri, Rambhageecha, ATC car parking area, etc. are in offing”, he added.
