ANDAL TIRUVADIPURAM FESTIVAL AT SRI GOVINDARAJA SWAMY TEMPLE

Tirupati,30 July 2014: The prestigious and devotional festival of Andal Tiruvadipuram was performed with full religious gusto and fervor at the Sri Govindaraja Temple at Tirupati this morning.

As part of the festival holy ritual of Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed to the utsava idols of Sri Govindara swamy and Sri  Andal Ammavaru. The priests conducted the ritual with holy water, milk, curd, honey, turmeric paste, sandal paste coconut water amidst chanting of vedic hyms. The idols were taken in a procession in the evening from the Sri Govindaraja swamy temple upto Alipiri.

After the ritual of Asthanam and special pujas at the Srivari padala mandapam the idols were brought back in a procession touching  Geeta Mandiram, Ramnagar Quarters, Temple of Vaikhanasacharyulu, RS Mada Veedi and Chinna jeeyar matham.

Among those who participated in the sacred event were TTD Deputy Executive Officer Sri Chandrasekhar Pillai, Assistant EO Sri Prasad Raju, Superintendent Sri Dayakar,Temple inspector Sri Rajesh Kanna other temple officials and large number of devotees.
