HEARING AIDS TO TRANSFORM DEAF & DUMB AS NORMAL STUDENTS- TTD EO MG GOPAL

Tirupati, 30 July 2014 : The deaf and dumb students of the Educational institutions (college and School) run by the Tirumala Tirupati  Devasthanams were today issued new hearing aids.

Distributing the hearing equipments the TTD executive officer Sri M.G.Gopal said the  instruments were aimed to improve their skills and hone up their talents in studies in colleges and schools and achieve good ranks etc. Identifying such hearing anomalies  at an early age and treat them through such hearing aids will help resolve the deficiencies among such deaf and dumb students and transform them into normal students.

Sri Gopal said the TTD had launched society friendly initiatives like Annadanam, Vidya danam and free Medicare for poor devotees with the abundant donations made by the philanthropists.  In the coming years also the TTD will supply hearing aids to students  on the basis of their deficiencies. He urged the teachers to take additional care to teach the deaf and dumb students and transform them into normal citizens.

The TTD EO said  such deaf and dumb institutions will soon be set up at Bhimavaram and Warangal and the free hearing aids will also be distributed among the students there.

The TTD DEO (Devasthanams Education Officer) Sri Sesha Reddy said 53 past students who had been enabled with such hearing aids are now being trained in computer technology by the Ghana Educational Society, Hyderabad.

Later the TTD EO distributed 700 hearing rings, 75 tri-cycles, 50 blind sticks,92 calibers, presented by the Ali Yavar Jung National institute of hearing aids and also 454 hearing rings provided under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan program.

Among those who participated in the program were the Chief Medical Officer of TTD, Sri Vikas, Principal of SV Deaf and dumb college, Sri Jayaraj, TTD Educational consultant Sri Appa Rao, representative of Ali Yavar Jung National institute of hearing aids Sri Karthikeyan, TTD officials and students.
