Tirumala, 17 July 2014: The annual festival of Anivara Asthanam has been performed with religious fervour in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala on July 17.

Lord Malayappa Swamy accompanied by His two consorts was brought to the Garudalwar Sannidhi and seated facing opposite to Garudalwar at Bangaru Vakili at around 7am.  Later the Commander-in-Chief of Lord, Sri Visvaksena was also seated adjacent to the deities and Asthanam was performed. The uniqueness of the festival is that the previous year accounts of the Srivari temple office was presented before the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy by the principal officers and are taken back to signify that the Lord Malayappa Swamy finds the officers fit enough to hold their respective offices.  New books are presented at the feet of the Lord for recording finances of the next financial year.
