ANNAMAIAH JAYANTHI COMMENCES IN A BIG WAY WITH ANNAMAIAH PATAKU PATTABHISHEKAM

Tirupati 21 May 2016: Saint poet Annamacharya succeeded in bringing social awareness among the masses over six centuries ago through his outstanding sankeertans, said TTD Eo Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

The 608th Jayanthi celebrations of Tallapaka Annamacharya commenced in a big way in Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati on Saturday.

Speaking on this occasion the EO said Annamacharya penned over 32000 kritis out of which 14000 are available and the SV Recording Project of TTD has composed and recorded about 1700 songs so far. We will record more number of songs with upcoming artists in future, he added.

The EO also said, TTD has been conducting the Jayanthi and Vardhanthi Mahotsavams of Annamacharya at Tirupati, Tirumala and also in Tallapaka every year in befitting manner.

Meanwhile the prestigious Annamaiah Pataku Pattabhishekam programme designed by TTD Trust board member Dr K Raghavendra Rao and composed by renowned music director sri MM Keeravani will be telecasted on svbc between 8pm and 10pm on May 21 and 22. Hence forth this program will be telecast every week.
