“ANNAMAIAH VINNAPALU” MUSES THE AUDIENCE

TIRUCHANOOR, NOV 22: The devotional musical programme organised under the aegis of Annamacharya Project of TTD as a part of the ongoing Karthika Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanoor enthralled the audience on Saturday to the melodious spiritual songs rendered by Kumari I Shravanthi of Hyderabad at Asthana Mandapam here.

Ms Shravanthi, who is also the Daughter of Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Sri IYR Krishna Rao is being trained under the able guidance of carnatic musical expert Sri Seshaiah Shastry.

With a theme “Annamaiah Vinnapalu”, Ms Shravanthi rendered about a dozen great devotional songs penned by Saint Poet Padakavitha Pitamaha Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, Nada Brahma Sri Tyagaraja, Sri Muttuswamy Dikshitar and Sri Muttaiah Bhagavathar with aplomb.

Among the songs of Annamacharya she rendered the most famous “Tiru Tiru Jawarala Ti Ti Ti Ti” of Raga “Gambhira Nata” composed by TTD Asthana Sangitha Vidhwans Dr G Balakrishna Prasad in rhythm with clear cut of raga-tala-Shabda. She also sang the songs of Saint Poet including “Chakkani Talliki Changu Bhala” in Padi ragam, “Muddugare Yasodha” in Kurinji raga, “Chirutanavvula vade Sinnekka”, “Jaya Lakshmi Varalakshmi”, the only song penned by Saint Poet Annamacharya on Puri Jagannath-“Twameva Sharanam”.

The prominent one of Tyagaraja’s includes “Marugelara O Raghava” and “Lochana Kamala Lalochana”, Muttuswamy Dikshitar’s “Sri Parvathi Parameshwara”, Muttaiah Bhagavathar’s “Himagiri Tanaye Hemalathe” in Suddha Dhanyasi raga and others include “Vande Nisimham” and “Ramakoti Sundara”.

Chief Secretary of AP Sri IYR Krishna Rao, TTD EO Sri MG Gopal, JEO Tirupati Sri P Bhaskar, SV Music and Dance College Principal Smt YVS Padmavathi, TTD PRO Sri T Ravi and huge number of audience were also present.
