Tirupati, 27 Dec. 20: TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy on Sunday lauded the Police constable Sri Arshad of YSR Kadapa Special Branch for his humanitarian act of carrying a 60 year old devotee Smt Nageswaramma of Nandamuri for six kilometers on his shoulders up to Tirumala.
The constable was member of the special security team of former MLA Sri A Amarnath Reddy who came to Tirumala on Padayatra on December 23 through the Annamaiah Margam amidst dense Seshachala forests.
The local media carried reports about the cop’s humanitarian gesture of carrying an aged Lady who fell sick on the forest track.
TTD Chairman personally called the Constable Arshad and appreciated his services and indicated that he would refer it to DGP of AP for suitable rewards. .
In a humble manner the constable responded that whatever he did was due to stamina and strength given by Lord Venkateshwara.
BETTER HEALTH SERVICES ON FOOTPATHS:
In the backdrop of two incidents of sick devotees on footpaths, TTD Chairman directed officials to make arrangements for emergency medical facilities on footpaths like medicines, ambulance, oxygen etc.
It may be recalled that two days ago AP GENCO MD Sri Sridhar had also fallen sick on Alipiri footpath and was rescued on a war footing.
Addressing a meeting of senior officials at Sri Padmavati Rest House on Sunday, the TTD Chairman reviewed on PHCs, Staff, and Medicines etc. available on footpaths. He directed officials to organise ambulances and also wireless sets at the centres for providing fast services to devotees.
TTD JEO Sri P Basanth Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Dr Narmada and other officials were also present.
