BRAHMOTSAVAM BIGGEST SHOW ON PIETY AND DEVOTION ON EARTH

Tirumala, 13 September 2015: Tirumala is all dressed up with flower medians, electrical display stations, security barricades, extended parking lots, streamlined food parks Laddu Prasadam counters and waiting queues. The Nine day Brahmotsavam festival is pinnacle of events organized by the TTD out of a total of 450 festivals round the year.

The serene and lush green sanguine surroundings of Tirumala will throb with the crescendo of Namo Venkateshaya chants as millions of devotees throng the hill shrine to be blessed by their revered deity and fulfill their vows in return for the boons showered by him.The serpentine ghat roads , the foot paths and steps to hill shrine will be flooded with motorists and devotees on foot through out the day and night.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is geared to receive the multitude of devotees and also organize the celestial event for the benefit of devotees. ‘We are always ready on a 365 days a year to receive hordes of devotees (about 2 million a month) “says the Executive Officer of the TTD Sri D Sambashiv Rao. He reviewed and inspected all the arrangements for the twin Brahmotsavams once again on Sunday. ‘The focus is on security,cleanliness and also and provision of extended spiritual and devotional elixir to pilgrims during Brahmotsavams ‘he says. Taking cue from past, special care has been taken in putting barricades all around the Three sq. kms of Tirumala spiritual hub around the Srivari temple comprising of Four Mada Streets, Swami Pushkarini and the Vaikuntham queue complex The Galleries of 4 Mada streets are geared to accommodate 2.5 lakh devotees for the Vahana processions of the presiding deity of Tirumala, which is the hall mark and zenith of the nine day Brahmotsavam festival ‘Darshan of Lord on procession Vahanams is equivalent to darshan of Mula Virat in the temple ‘says AVS Ramana Dikshitulu, the chief priest of Tirumala.

The TTD has kept a buffer of 6 lakh laddus for pilgrims distribution. The commonman darshan hours (Sarva Darshan) has been enhanced to nearly 20 hours during Brahmotsavams cutting short all VVIP darshans and cancellation of Arjita Sevas. ‘Brahmotsavam is an event when the Lord himself comes out of temple to give darshan to multitude of devotees in open on Mada streets “says Dollar Sheshadri, another prominent Agama ritual exponent of TTD.

TTD has put up 23 mass size LED screen TVs and the SVBC, the in house channel has been directed to deploy more Jimmy Jibs- 360 degree camera holder cranes during Vahana sevas to present a life size imagery to devotees . To support the TTD staff, about 2700 Srivari Sevaks,and 600 Scouts and guides will be deployed with a massive assignment of security forces – police NSG and other para military to guard the temple and manage the huge congregation during the nine day spiritual bonanza . ‘In view of perennial security threat to the worlds most hoary Hindu shrine, vigilance will be stepped up with Drones monitoring crowd movement from sky high above on Tirumala. “We anticipate huge number of foot walker devotees from all over south India and it is necessary to monitor their movements and provide basic amenities to them ‘says Sri K S Srinivasa Raju, the JEO of Tirumala.

TTD PRO Sri Ravi says that the TTD has organized a Media center at Tirumala with internet , fax and computers for benefit of nearly 300 scribes arriving from all over India to cover the celestial event . ‘We have hired a select band of writers to generate focused articles every day and also conduct Media interaction every day at Tirumala with HoDs and others to appraise them of the unique initiatives undertaken by the TTD for benefit of devotees and its efforts to project the Brhamotsavam as the biggest Show of reverence, devotion and piety ion Earth
