CJI OFFERS PRAYERS TO HILL LORD
Tirumala, 24 June 2017: The Honourable Chief Justice of India, Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar offered prayers in the temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on Saturday evening along with his family.
Earlier he was accorded warm welcome by the TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal and Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju. The temple priests rendered Isthilaphal welcome amidst chanting of Veda mantras on his arrival at the main entrance of the temple as per temple tradition.
Later the CJ I offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara inside sanctum Santorum. The temple chief priest explained to him about the history of temple and the importance of jewels adorned to presiding deity. The CJI also offered prayers on all sub temples located inside the temple. He was later rendered Vedasirvachanam by Vedic scholars inside Ranganayakula Mandapam.
The TTD mandarins offered the dignitary the prasadams and lamination photo of Lord along with seshavastram.
Temple DyEO Sri Rama Rao, Reception Officials Sri Haridranath, Sri Lakshminarayana Yadav and others were present.
