COLOURFUL HOLY THREADS ADORNED TO LORD SRI GOVINDARAJA

Tirupati, 6 September 2014: As a part of the on-going three day religious fete of annual Pavitrotsavams, the colourful holy silk threads, otherwise known as “Pavitra Mala” have been decked to the presiding deity of Lord Sri Govinda Raja Swamy on the second day on Saturday.

The day commenced with the wakening of Lord with Suprabhata seva followed by Thomala and Archana. Later the processional deities were rendered celestial bath with milk, curd, sandal paste, turmeric paste and honey in the Yagashala amidst the chanting of vedic hymns.

Later the colourful sacred silk threads were taken on a procession and decorated to presiding deity, processional deities, dhwajasthambham, Vimana Prakaram, sub-shrines, Sri Matham Anjaneya Swamy etc.
In the evening there will be procession of the deities between 5.30pm to 6.30pm followed by vedic rituals in Yagashala from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Meanwhile HH Sri Peddajiyangar Swamy, HH Sri Chinnajiyangar Swamy, Deputy EO Sri Chandrasekhar Pillai, AEO Sri Prasada Murthy Raju, archakas and others were also present.
