Tirumala, 31, May 2022: As part of its echo drive to protect the environment and greenery on the hill shrine In the TTD has decided to enforce a complete plastic ban on the hill shrine of Tirumala from tomorrow, June 1.
After a series of early warnings and appeals the TTD organised a meeting with shopkeepers and hoteliers of Tirumala on Tuesday at the Asthana Mandapam to announce the tough decision.
Addressing the meeting Sri Mallikarjun, the OSD of the TTD Estate wing said the use and carrying of plastic bottles, bags, carry bags, covers, shampoo bottles etc were all banned in the hill shrine. All vehicles and individuals coming to Tirumala will henceforth be thoroughly checked at the Alipiri checkpoint in Tirupati before they are allowed to Tirumala by either foot or vehicles.
He said henceforth traders should use biodegradable or paper covers only in place of plastic covers. Even plastic shampoo bottles were banned. All hoteliers and Mutt organisers should observe the plastic ban very strictly.
He also advised officials to install rate signboards in front of shops etc. to ensure that traders do not charge extra on devotees for providing non-plastic covers.
Speaking on the occasion TTD health officer Dr Sridevi said hotels and shopkeepers should put wet and dry wastes in separate dustbins to enable easy garbage collections. Shopkeepers should sell only goods they were licensed to sell and every Tuesday afternoon from 1.00-3.00 pm they should compulsorily participate in a mass cleaning drive.
TTD VGO Sri Bali Reddy said from June 1st onwards the vigilance, estate and health officials will conduct regular checks on shops and hotels and seize if they find any plastic materials.
He appealed to shopkeepers and hoteliers to cooperate and become partners in the TTD drive to ban plastic use on the hill shrine.
TTD revenue department AEO Sri Chowdhary, AVSO Sri Sai Giridhar, Shopkeepers and hoteliers of Tirumala were present.

దుకాణదారులు, హోటళ్ల నిర్వాహకులు సహకరించాలని విజ్ఞప్తి
తిరుమల, 2022 మే 31: తిరుమలలో పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణలో భాగంగా జూన్ 1వ తేదీ నుండి సంపూర్ణ ప్లాస్టిక్ నిషేధం అమలు చేయాలని టిటిడి నిర్ణయించింది. తిరుమల ఆస్థానమండపంలో మంగళవారం దుకాణదారులు, హోటళ్ల నిర్వాహకులతో టిటిడి అధికారులు సమావేశం నిర్వహించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎస్టేట్ విభాగం ప్రత్యేకాధికారి శ్రీ మల్లికార్జున మాట్లాడుతూ ప్లాస్టిక్ బాటిళ్లు, బ్యాగులు, కవర్ల వినియోగాన్ని పూర్తిగా నిషేధించామని, అలిపిరి చెక్ పాయింట్ వద్ద క్షుణ్ణంగా తనిఖీ చేసి ప్లాస్టిక్ రహిత వస్తువులను మాత్రమే తిరుమలకు అనుమతిస్తామని తెలిపారు. ప్లాస్టిక్ కవర్లలో వచ్చే ఉత్పత్తులకు ప్రత్యామ్నాయ ఏర్పాట్లు చేయాలన్నారు. పంచలు, బొమ్మలు, ఇతర వస్తువులకు ప్లాస్టిక్ కవర్ల ప్యాకింగ్ లేకుండా బయోడిగ్రేడబుల్ కవర్లు గాని పేపర్ కవర్లు గాని ఉపయోగించాలన్నారు. ప్లాస్టిక్ షాంపూ పొట్లాలు కూడా విక్రయించరాదన్నారు. హోటళ్ల నిర్వాహకులు, మఠాల నిర్వాహకులు కూడా ప్లాస్టిక్ నిషేధాన్ని కట్టుదిట్టంగా అమలు చేయాలన్నారు. దుకాణాల వద్ద అధిక ధరలకు విక్రయించకుండా సూచిక బోర్డులు ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని సూచించారు.
టిటిడి ఆరోగ్యశాఖ అధికారి డాక్టర్ శ్రీదేవి మాట్లాడుతూ హోటళ్లు, దుకాణాల నిర్వాహకులు తడి చెత్త, పొడి చెత్తను వేరువేరుగా డస్ట్ బిన్లలో ఉంచాలని, తద్వారా సేకరణకు అనువుగా ఉంటుందని అన్నారు. దుకాణాల్లో అనుమతించిన వస్తువులనే విక్రయించాలన్నారు. దుకాణదారులు ప్రతి మంగళవారం మధ్యాహ్నం 1 నుంచి 3 గంటల వరకు మాస్ క్లీనింగ్ చేపట్టాలని కోరారు.
టిటిడి విజిఓ శ్రీ బాలిరెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ జూన్ ఒకటో తేదీ నుంచి విజిలెన్స్, హెల్త్, ఎస్టేట్ అధికారులు నిరంతరంగా తనిఖీలు చేసి ప్లాస్టిక్ వస్తువులు ఎక్కడ కనిపించినా దుకాణాలను సీజ్ చేస్తారని తెలిపారు. దుకాణదారులు ఒక సంకల్పంతో ప్లాస్టిక్ నిషేధానికి సహకరించాలని కోరారు.
