MAHA MAHOPADHYAYA AND VACHASPATHI TITLES CONFERRED TO RENOWNED SCHOLARS
TIRUPATI, 28 APRIL 2023: The Vedas are treasures of knowledge since several ages and the Vedic scholars and students should decipher this ancient wisdom and spread its essence for the well-being of the humanity, said His Excellency the Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sri S Abdul Nazeer.
In the capacity of the Chancellor of the TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, he participated in its Seventh Convocation Ceremony held at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Friday. In his address, he said, Vedas are the first fruits of human intellectual pursuits while Sanskrit is the medium to transmit the knowledge from one generation to another. “Vedas are repositories of vast knowledge given by our forefathers. And we need to take forward this abundant wisdom for the coming generations by developing a synergy between the ancient Indian Tradition and modern science and technology”, he maintained.
He complimented the SVVU for its efforts to cater to present-day needs by combining the traditional wisdom with modern science to achieve fruitful results. “I was informed that nearly 3000 manuscripts have been digitalized by the University so far, I wish the University reach greater heights in its endeavours in spreading the vast knowledge for the benefit of the society not only in the country but across the world”, he asserted.
Earlier, the Chief Guest of the Convocation Brahmasri Mani Dravida Shastry in his address on the occasion called upon the graduates, post graduates and vedic students to take forward the legacy of the ancient Vedic Knowledge and contribute for the development of state, nation as well world.
Describing the Vedic Scholars and students as the “Torch Bearers” of Hindu Sanatana Dharma, TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy addressing the Vedic fraternity during the Convocation said that Vedas are the basis of Hindu Sanatana Dharma and all the Vedic scholars, students should strive hard with dedication to sustain the Vedic knowledge for the generations to come. “Explore, research and unearth the hidden knowledge in Vedas and sacred texts for the welfare of the entire humanity”, he maintained.
Prof.Rani Sadasiva Murty, the Vice-Chancellor of the SV Vedic University in his academic report stated the development activities and future projects briefly. He said the new University has already commenced its new academic year 2023-24 on the guidelines of National Education Policy(NEP) 2020. “Revival of Adrashan Veda Gurukulam, new academic programs like Adhindriya Vijnanam, Pauranika Sikshana certificate courses also on chords which will help in enabling people to understand and appreciate the richness of our ancient texts.With an effort to strengthen Veda Vidya, all the Vedic schools including Veda Vignana Peetham of TTD have been brought under a single umbrella in SVVU. Besides, 140 Veda pathashalas across the country are being given financial support”, he mentioned. He also said, the ambience in the university will also be enhanced by developing Six Conceptual Gardens soon and thanked TTD mandarins for their support in every step behind the development of SVVU since its inception in 2006.
CONFERMENT OF TITLES
The Maha Mahopadhyaya titles were conferred to Brahmasri Subrahmanya Shastri Salakshana Ghanapati, Brahmasri Mani Dravida Shastry while the conferment of Vachaspathi on Brahmasri Ramasomayaji Shastry and Brahmasri Vamsikrishna Ghanapati on the occasion by the Honourable Chancellor.
Later, 550 students were awarded graduates and post-graduates certificates.
JEO (H&E) Smt Sada Bhargavi, DEO Sri Bhaskar Reddy, Registrar of the University Sri Radhe Syam, Deans, Faculties, Scholars, Students and other officials were also present.

శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర వేద విశ్వవిద్యాలయం 7వ స్నాత‌కోత్స‌వం మహతి కళాక్షేత్రంలో శుక్రవారం ఘనంగా జ‌రిగింది.
ఈ సంద‌ర్భంగా గ‌వ‌ర్న‌రు శ్రీ అబ్దుల్ నజీర్ మాట్లాడుతూ , భార‌తీయులకు పూర్వీకుల నుండి వార‌స‌త్వంగా వేదాలు అందాయ‌ని, ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా వీటిని వ్యాప్తి చేయాల్సిన అవ‌స‌రం ఎంతైనా ఉందని అన్నారు. వేద ప‌రిర‌క్ష‌ణ, ప్ర‌చారానికి టీటీడీ విశేషంగా కృషి చేస్తోంద‌ని అభినందించారు. వేదాల్లో ఆధ్యాత్మిక జ్ఞానంతోపాటు సాంకేతిక ప‌రిజ్ఞానం దాగి ఉంద‌న్నారు. వేద విద్యలో ఉత్తీర్ణులైన విద్యార్థులు స‌మాజానికి ద‌శ – దిశ నిర్ధేశం చేయాల‌న్నారు. వేలాదిసంవ‌త్స‌రాల క్రిత‌మే గ‌ణిత, వైజ్ఞానిక, ఆర్థిక, సాంకేతిక, జ్యోతిష్య శాస్త్రాలను మన పూర్వీకులు వేదాల్లోని వైదిక అంశాల‌ను మేళవించి ప్రపంచానికి తెలియజెప్పారన్నారు.
భాస్క‌రుని గ‌ణిత శాస్త్రం, ధ‌న్వంత‌రి వైద్య శాస్త్రం, విరాట సంహీత, భ‌ర‌ద్వాజ విమాన శాస్త్రం, కౌటిల్యుని ఆర్ధ శాస్త్రాలు వీటికి నిద‌ర్శ‌నంగా నిలుస్తున్నాయ‌న్నారు . అంత‌టి గొప్ప. సంస్కృతి , సాంప్ర‌దాల‌ను వేద విద్య అందించింద‌ని తెలియ‌జేశారు. ప్రాచీన తాళపత్ర గ్రంథాలను డిజిటైజ్ చేయడం ద్వారా మన విజ్ఞాన సంపదను భావి తరాలకు అందించడానికి టీటీడీ కృషి చేస్తోందన్నారు. ఇందులో భాగంగా దాదాపు మూడు వేల తాళ పత్రాలను డిజిటైజ్ చెయడం గొప్పవిషయమని గవర్నర్ అభినందించారు.
ప్రపంచానికి భార‌త‌దేశం విజ్ఞాన దిక్సుచిగా నిలవడానికి మన స‌నాత‌న‌మైన వేద విద్యే కారణమన్నారు.
వేదాలు, ఇతిహాసాలు, కళలు మానవ జీవన నైపుణ్యాలకు సంబంధించినవేనని ఆయన తెలిపారు. వైదిక సంప్రదాయాన్ని సజీవ సంప్రదాయమంటారని వేదాలలో దాగి ఉన్న జ్ఞాన సంపదను వెలికి తీసేందుకు శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర వేద విశ్వవిద్యాలయం మరింత కృషి చేయాలని సూచించారు. భాష జ్ఞానాన్ని ఒక తరం నుండి మరొక తరానికి అందించే అపారమైన సాధనమని చెప్పారు. సంస్కృతం భారతీయ భాషలన్నింటికీ తల్లి లాంటిదని ఆయన చెప్పారు. ప్రపంచంలోని ఇతర భాషలపై కూడా సంస్కృత భాషా ప్రభావం ఉన్నట్లు గుర్తించారన్నారు. భారతీయ సంప్రదాయం, ఆధునిక శాస్త్ర సాంకేతికత మధ్య సమన్వయం పెంపొందించుకోగలిగితే దేశం మరింత అభివృద్ధి చెం దుతుందని తెలిపారు. ఈ లక్ష్యంతోనే భారత మానవ వనరుల శాఖ భారతీయ విజ్ఞాన విధానాలు, భారతీయ భాష సమితి అనే శాఖలను అభివృద్ధి చేసిందన్నారు. జ్ఞానం సరిహద్దులను విస్తరించడానికి ఎడతెగని ప్రయత్నాలు జరుగుతున్నాయని ఈ ప్రయత్నాల్లో పరిశోధనలు ముఖ్యమైన భాగంగా ఉన్నాయన్నారు. ప్రకృతితో జీవించడాన్ని ప్రాచీన శాస్త్రాలు మనకు నేర్పాయని, వ్యవసాయంలో రసాయనాలు క్రిమిసంహారక మందుల వాడకం వల్ల మానవాళికి అపారమైన నష్టం కలుగుతోందన్నారు. ప్రాచీన గ్రంథాలలో చెప్పిన విధంగా ప్రకృతి వ్యవసాయం ప్రాముఖ్యతను నేటి తరానికి తెలియజేసి, రైతులను ఆ దిశగా నడిపించాల్సిన బాధ్యత అందరిపై ఉందని ఆయన అన్నారు. పురుగుమందులు వాడకుండా ప్రజల ఆహార అవసరాలను తీర్చే సాగును ప్రాచీన గ్రంథాలు మనకు అందించాయన్నారు.
మనదేశంలో ఇప్పటికీ కొన్ని గ్రామాలు సంస్కృతంలోనే మాట్లాడుతున్నాయన్నారు. ఆ గ్రామాల ప్రజలు ఇప్పటికీ సంస్కృతంలోనే విద్యాబోధన చేయించడంతోపాటు, అదే భాషలో మాట్లాడుకోవడం జరుగుతోందన్నారు.
ఎస్వీ వేద వ‌ర్సిటీ వైస్ చాన్స‌ల‌ర్ ఆచార్య రాణి సదాశివ మూర్తి మాట్లాడుతూ, వేద విద్య వ్యాప్తికి చేస్తున్న కృషిని, వ‌ర్సిటీ ప్ర‌గ‌తిని తెలియ‌జేశారు. వేద విద్య‌ను అభ్య‌సిస్తున్న విద్యార్థులకు రూ.ఒక లక్ష నుండి రూ.4 ల‌క్ష‌ల వ‌ర‌కు ప్రోత్సాహ‌కాలు అందిస్తున్నామ‌ని తెలిపారు. వేదాల‌కు ప్రాచుర్యం క‌ల్పించేందుకు పుస్త‌కాలు ముద్రిస్తున్నామ‌ని, రాత‌ప్ర‌తులను ప‌రిష్క‌రిస్తున్నామ‌ని, వేదాలు, ఉప‌నిషత్తుల‌ను రికార్డింగ్ చేస్తున్నామ‌ని వివ‌రించారు.
టీటీడీ ఈవో శ్రీ ఎవి ధర్మారెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ, వేద విద్య పూర్తి చేసిన విద్యార్థులు ధర్మ ప్రచారం, సత్య నిష్ఠ కు బ్రాండ్ అంబాసిడర్లుగా పని చేయాలని కోరారు.
