“DEVELOP TIRUPATI RAILWAY STATION INTO WORLD CLASS MODEL”-TTD CHAIRMAN SOUGHT UNION RAILWAY MINSITER

New Delhi, 5 November 2015: TTD Trust Board Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy called on Union Minister for Railways Sri Suresh Prabhu in Rail Bhavan at New Delhi on Thursday and sought him to develop Tirupati Railway Station in to a world class model.

The chairman in his representation sought the union minister as Tirupati is developing as a world class pilgrim city, with heavy inflow of pilgrims every day, in view of the day to day increase in rush, there is need to develop Tirupati railway station with world class standards.

In his representation the TTD board chief has put forth some important proposals which included a new railway station in Tirupati-Renigunta-Tiruchanoor and a new platform to be developed on the South Side of West Railway station. Others include:
Development of Renigunta, Tirupati West, Chandragiri railway stations, a special train between Tirupati and Shiridi, high speed train between Tirupati and Vijayawada.

New trains from Tirupati to Vizag, Mumbai, New Delhi, Varanasi also to be introduced, while a daily train be operated between Tirupati and Rameswaram, a new train from Chennai to Tirupati after 8pm, double line between Tirupati and Katpadi, railways lne works to be taken up on a faster pace between Srikalahasti-Nadikudi, Simhadri Express running between Secunderabad-Gudur to be extended upto Tirupati and Carriage Repair Shop (CRS) to be improved.

The Union Railway Minister also positively reacted to the proposals. Meanwhile the TTD board chief also met Railway Board Chairman Sri Ashok Kumar Mittal and submitted the memorandum. National Federation of Indian Railway Men General Secretary Sri Marri Raghavaiah, Chairman Personal Secretary Sri Kuppala Giridhar Kumar were also present.
