DHWAJAROAHANAM OBSERVED IN MEENA LAGNAM

Srinivasa Mangapuram, 16 February 2017: The Garuda Dhwajampatham has been hoisted atop the Dhwajasthambham in the sacred Meena Lagnam in Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple in Srinivasa Mangapuram on Thursday amidst religious fervour.

This significant ritual marked the ceremonial commencement of annual Navahnika Brahmotsavams in this famous shrine which is considered next important to Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala.

The vedic priests chanted the hymns accompanied to the rhythmic beats of drums, mridangam, nadaswaram and saxaphone. Later the Sankalpa were rendered by EO and JEO and the celestial flag with the image of Lord Garuda was hoisted on the temple pillar.

Earlier, Tiruchi utsavam was performed where in the celestial Garuda Chitra Patam was brought to the temple in a celestial procession before it is being hoisted.

Meanwhile the temple authorities have cancelled arjitha sevas including Swarna Pushparchana, Astottara Sata Kalasabhishekam, Tiruppavada Seva, Arjitha kalyanotsavam from Thursday to February 24 in connection with annual brahmotsavams.
