DHWAJAROHANAM IN MEENA LAGNA MARKS THE BEGINNING OF SRI KRT BTUs

SITATAMA KALYANAM ON APRIL 16-TTD CHAIRMAN

Tirupati, 4 April 2016: The Navahnika Brahmotsavams of Lord Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati commenced with the first episode of Dhwajarohanam in MEENA Lagnam performed on Monday morning between 6am and 7am.

The day began with the procession of deities in four mada streets during the week hours and later the traditional flag hoisting activity on temple pillar commenced amid chanting of Vedic mantras by archakas.

The Garuda on pillar was rendered with harati and naivedyam and later the Garuda Flag was hoisted onto the temple pillar in a ceremonious way.

Later speaking on this occasion, TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy said, this year annual nine day fete is being observed in a big way not only in Tirupati Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple but also in Chandragiri and Vontimitta temples.

“Lord Sri Rama stood as role model to the entire humanity by following the righteous path all through his life and became “Purushottama”, he observed. The Kalyanam in this temple will be on April 16, in Vontimitta on April 20 and in Chandragiri on April 21. The devotees should take part in all these festivals in a big way and get the divine blessings”, he added.

Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar, Temple Dyeo Smt Munilakshmi, Superintendent Sri Uma Maheshwar Reddy and others were also present.
