Dr BR AMBEDKAR WAS A VISIONARY OF MODERN INDIA-TTD EO

TIRUPATI, APRIL 14:  Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar was the Messaiah of the down trodden who fought against the soical discrimination and Indian Caste system through out his life said the speakers on the occasion of 123rd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar.

The birth anniversary of the great social reformer was observed by TTD under the aegis of Welfare department in the quadrangle on Monday. Renowned scholars including Padmasri Prof Kolakaluri Enoch and Sri Bhimrao Balakrishna spoke on this occasion.

Addressing the occasion TTD EO Sri MG Gopal said, Ambedkar’s legacy as a socio-political reformer, had a deep effect on modern India. In post-Independence India his socio-political thought has acquired respect across the political spectrum. His initiatives have influenced various spheres of life and transformed the way India today looks at socio-economic policies, education and affirmative action through socio-economic and legal incentives. His reputation as a scholar led to his appointment as free India’s first law minister, and chairman of the committee responsible to draft a constitution. He passionately believed in the freedom of the individual and fought for social justice and equality”, EO added.

 In his address Tirupati JEO Sri P Bhaskar said, “Ambedkar’s vision benefited the government in accomplishing the food security goal. He supported economic and social development of the society for nation’s progress. He also emphasised on education, public hygiene, community health, residential facilities as the basic amenities.

Padmasri Prof K Enoch said, Ambedkar was live example of great wisdom and knowledge. Ambedkar was an outstanding and wrote three scholarly books on economics including – Administration and Finance of the East India Company, The Evolution of Provincial Finance in British India, The Problem of the Rupee: Its Origin and Its Solution which have become the main source for economic policies in the country. Even the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), formed in 1934, was based on the ideas that Ambedkar presented to the Hilton Young Commissio. He is creditworthy to establish Finance Commission of India. He did not support the income tax policy for the lower income group community”, Sri Enoch said.

In his inspiring emotional speech, Sri Bhimrao Balakrishna Dr BR Ambedkar was a great visionary who preached the “Science of Equality, Science of Fraternity and Science of Humanity to the Indian Society and pioneered a new “Ism” called “Ambdekarism”. He called upon the students and employees to know the facts about Ambedkarism which preached “Social Equality to All”, he added. Later he presented a thought-provoking song on the life of Dr Ambedkar which enthralled every one.
