EO INSPECTS TTD MUSEUM AT TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 2 August 2015: TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao on Sunday inspected the Sri Venkateswara Museum, which is considered to be one of the most important places of visit in Tirumala.

The Museum Direcor Prof Ranganayakuku, who has recently taken the charges here, explained to EO about the various stone, marble, bronze statues belonging to 10th Century to 20th Century including the statues of Vaishnavi, Shanmukha, Trivikrama, Veerabhadra, Alwars, Ivory mirror, Ivory Palanquin etc. After two-hour long inspection, the EO said, the museum is a well constructed structure and can be enhanced in a better way by developing themes in galleries, setting up the photos of sevas, jewels of Lord etc. for the sake of the pilgrims.

“When the pilgrim returns to his or her native place, they should carry the memories of the museum. It should be developed in such a way both visually and conceptually”, EO directed the officials concerned.

Museum officials Sri Venkata Krishnaiah, Sri Chandra, Artist Sri Anand were also present.
