TIRUMALA SEERS COMMENCE CHATURMASA VRATA SANKALPAM IN SRI TT

TIRUMALA, AUG 2: The Senior Pontiff of Tirumala HH Sri Periya Kovil Kelviyappan Sadagopa RAMANUJACHARYA Periya Jiyar Swamy along with Junior Pontiff, HH Sri Narayana Ramanujacharya Chinna Jiyar Swamy commenced the Chaturmasa Vrata Sankalpam in Sri Tirumala Temple on Sunday.

Speaking on this occasion, TTD Trust Board Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy said, the richness of Hindu Sanatana Dharma lies in its ethos. “Our ancestors had taught us the values and we are continuing the legacy without deviation for the benefit of entire humanity. Even today our seers are following the path laid by Saint Sri Ramanujacharya and have observing Chaturmasa Deeksha since ages for the welfare of the society”, he observed.

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, Chaturmasa Vrata is usually observed by seers, pontiffs and holy men starting from Ashadham to Krthika months.

“During this period they observe strict dietary, perform homas, Yagas and Vratam for the wellbeing of the humanity. With the blessings of Lord Venkateswara the divine legacy has been continuing for centuries”, he maintained.

Earlier, the Jiyangars reached Mahadwaram of Srivari temple from Pedda Jiyar Mutt amidst chanting of Veda Mantras. At the entrance of the temple they were received with temple honours. Ttd Chairman couple and EO couple also welcomed the pontiffs.

At the sanctum Sanctorum, they were rendered “Arul Paadu”, by the Vedic pundits and later, the senior pontiff was presented with “Melchat Vastram” and Junior Pontiff with “Noolchat Vastram” which were placed at the Lotus feet of Lord Venkateswara.

CVSO Sri G Nagendra Kuamr, Temple DyEO Sri C Ramana, Parakamani DyEO Sri EC Sreedhar, Additional CVSO Sri Sivakumar Reddy and others were also present.
