EO REVIEWS ON RATHOTSAVAM AND CHAKRA SNANAM ARRANGEMENTS

Tirumala, 9 October 2016: With just two days to go for the completion of annual srivari brahmotsavams in Tirumala, the TTD Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao directed officials to strengthen security measures at Tirumala in anticipation of huge crowds in the coming two days which will witness two other major events consecutively including Rathotsavam on Monday morning and Chakrasnanam on Tuesday morning.

The review meeting took place in the Brahmotsvam Cell located front of Rambagicha Rest house along with Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju on Sunday noon. The TTD EO instructed the police, security and engineering staff to check the hydraulic brakes and other mechanism for the mammoth Wooden Chariot so that the devotees are not put to any hardship during the dragging of the Ratham. He also instructed the Engineering department to see that the Ratham did not move fast in low lying areas and take care to see that the ropes are also strong.

He said the staff should repeatedly announce precautions through public address system to devotees and remove the sand spread on the mada street after the passage of the Ratham. He wanted that adequate ambulances should be kept handy near the Vaibhotsava mandapam.

Later he said in connection with Chakra Snanam on October 11 between 6.00 AM to 9.00 AM, the devotees should be informed continuously in mikes that the auspicious moments would remain for the entire day and that they could take bath comfortably without any hurry. “Appeals should be made to all devotees to be patient and wait in the galleries for their turn to take holy dip in holy waters of temple tank”, he added. He also instructed the concerned to see that adequate dressing rooms have to be set up for benefit of women devotees and swimmers should be kept handy in Pushkarani. He also wanted LCD screens be set up near Swami Pushkarani and ensure that all devotees get a good view of the event”.

The In-charge CVSO Sri G Srinivas, Chief Engineer Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy and other senior officials participated in the review meeting.
