SOLAR FAMILY PROFILED DURING VAHANA SEVA

Tirumala, 9 October 2016: In an innovative manner the Dasa Sahitya Project wing of TTD presented profiles of the entire family of Sun God through Visesha Vesha Dharana by artistes in the mada streets during the Surya Prabha Vahanam on Sunday morning which attracted the pilgrims in a big way.

The guise by artistes showcased, Dwadasha Aditya, his wifes, sons, daughters and also a model of his chariot – with seven horses and has narrated a clear picture of entire Soura Kutumba to the pilgrims who converged to witness the vahana seva.

According to Puranas, Lord Surya is displayed in one form to the entire world in each season. He was displayed as Kratuvu in Phalguna month, Pusha in Magha, Bhaga in Pushya, Tariyama in Margashira, Vishnu in Kartika, Dhata in Chaitra, Aryama in Vishakam, Mitra in Jyestha, Varuna in Ashada, Indra in Sravana and Divasvanta in Bhadrapada .

At the profile display Sangna Devi and Chaya Devi flanked SunGod and were surrounded by His sons-Ashwini, Agasthya, Yama, Savarni, Shani besides daughters-Yami, Tapati. Apart from them, sons born from His divine blessings including Karna, Vashishta and Sugriva were also displayed.

The mighty Sun god is displayed riding a seven horse chariot.The display of the profile of Sun God and his mythological family was conceived by Sri Garudadrivasa Bhajana mandali led by its president Smt Hemalata and presented with 35 artists .
