“GAJA LAKSHMI” CAPTIVATES DEVOTEES ON “GAJA VAHANAM”

Tiruchanur, 23 November 2014: The tens of thousands of devotees who converged to witness the grandeur of Goddess Padmavathi Devi on Her favourite vehicle Gaja Vahanam on the fifth day of annual Karthika Brahmotsavams at Tiruchanoor were spell bound by the charm and glory of Goddess in Gaja Lakshmi Avataram on Sunday evening.

A sea of humanity turned out for this most important religious event to the temple town of Tiruchanoor as this is considered to as important as Garuda seva of Lord Venkateswara during Tirumala brahmotsavams.

Goddess Sri Gaja Lakshmi with all charm, majesty and glory took apride ride on the massive golden Gaja Vahanam and moved along the four mada streets with elegance blessing Her devotees.

The procession assumed royal look with “Radha-Gaja-Turaga-Padati” dalams taking a majestic infront of the vehicle. The performance by dance troupes, bhajan groups and children dressed in various mythological characters was a visual treat to the tens of thousands of eyes which were enthusiastically witnessing the massive procession.

The special jewel-“Lakshmi Kasula Haram” which was brought from the treasury of Her love Sri Venkateswara Swamy, was adorned to Goddess which enhanced the beauty of Goddess Gaja Lakshmi. The pilgrims were mused by the divine charm of “Gaja Gamini” on Sunday evening.

Tirumala as a TTD has made tight security arrangements with vigilance, srivari seva volunteers and police personnel were deployed to see that no untoward incident takes place during the celestial procession which lasted till midnight.

TTD Specified Authority Chairman Sri JC Sharma, EO Sri MG Gopal, JEO Tirupati Sri P Bhaskar and other prominent officials of TTD took part in this mammoth religious fete.
