GANAPATHI HOMAM PERFORMED FOR MONTH LONG HOMA MAHOTSAVAM IN SRI KT

Tirupati, 13 November 2015: The month long festivity of Homa Mahotsavams in the famous TTD-run Lord Shiva temple Sri Kapilewara Swamy in Tirupati commenced with Ganapathi Homam on Friday.

As a part of the religious fete, the processional deity of Lord Ganapthi was made to sit on a specially decked platform in Yagashala and the archakas performed Puja, Japam, Ganapthi Homam, Laghupurnahuti and Nivedana. Then various varieties of fruits, flowers, leaves and prasadams were offered to Lord and special homam is performed with Asta Dravyas chanting 16 various names of Lord Ganesha.

Meanwhile in the evening, Sri Ganapathi Sahasranamarchana was rendered chanting the 1000 divine names of Lord Vigneswara offering Mantra Pushpam. The devotees who are willing to take part in this homam can pay Rs.500 per ticket on which two persons will be allowed. Ganapathi Homam will also be performed on Saturday.

While from November 15-17 Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy Homam will be observed for three days in Yaga Shala.

Temple Deputy EO Sri Balaji, Archakas Sri Maniswamy, Sri Swaminatha Swamy and Sri Vijaya Swamy were also present.
