GRAND CELEBRATION OF KARTHEEKA POOJA OF AKKA DEVATAS AT AKKAGARLA TEMPLE ON GHAT ROAD

Tirumala,2 December 2016: The annual ritual of tamil Kartheeka masa pooja at Akka Devata temple on the first ghat road was performed by the TTD Transport department this morning.

TTD JEO Sri K S Sreenivasa Raju participated in the annual event said that it was an age old tradition to perform the Akka Devata pujas during the Kartheeka month.The drivers of the TTD fleet of vehicles and local residents of Tirumala play a major role in the event.

The event significant as it is said that the blessings of the Goddess Akkamma was crucial for the safety and comfortable journey of the devotees on the main ghat roads. The Akkagarla temple has its own legend and significance in the annals of Tirumala, he added.

Prominent among those who particiapted in the event were CV&SO Sri G Srinivas, GM Transport Sri V Sesha Reddy, DFO Sri Shivarama Prasad, CSO Smt Sadalakshmi, RTO Sri Vivekananda Reddy, AEO Sri G Devendra Babu and DI Sri Bhaskar Naidu and other officials of transport department.
