HEAVY PILGRIM INFLUX IN TIRUMALA

Tirumala, 13 June 2015: As the schools are set to re-open from the coming Monday onwards, pilgrims flooded Tirumala on Saturday and serpentine queues have become order of the day every where.

Under the instructions of TTD Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao, the arrangements have been made on a war footing by Annaprasadam, Health, Vigilance, Kalyanakatta and other departments in the direct supervision of Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju.

Around 3000 srivari sevakulu have been deployed to offer services to the multitude of visiting pilgrims in all the queue lines at Narayanagiri Gardens, Rs.300 queue lines, footpath lines, Sarvadarshan lines, VQC I and II.

The Annaprasadam wing has supplied sambar rice and curd rice to countless number of pilgrims in all queue lines, compartments, Kalyanakattas, PAC II at regular intervals. Kalyanakatta witnessed never before rush as the queue lines stretched for over half a kilo meter in sub-tonsuring areas. The department has deployed additional number of tonsurers than usual figure to cope up with the heavy pilgrim surge.

All the HoDs inspected the queue lines in regular intervals and attended promptly to the needs of the pilgrims in spite of abnormal rush.
