Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh Visit to Sri Vari Temple

Tirumala, September 1 2010:Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh expressed his happiness after the darshan of Lord Venkateswara this afternoon.

 

He was received and given a warm welcome by the Endowments Minister, Sri. Gade Venkat Reddy, Chairman of the Specified Authority on TTD, Sri J Satyanarayana and Sri I Y R Krishna Rao, Executive officer of TTD. Vedic pundits and archakas of the Srivari Temple offered him the ‘ Isthikaphala’  swagatham at the Mahadwaram.

 

Chief Priest of the temple Dr Ramana Dikshitulu explained the mythological glory and historical significance of the temple to the Prime Minister as he went around the temple after the darshan of Lord Venkateswara in the Ananda Nilayam. Pedda Jeeyangar of Tirumala presented the Melchat Vastram of the Lord to both the Prime Minister and Governor Sri. E S L Narasimhan.

 

The entourage of the Prime Minister later went around and paid their respects to several other deities including Vakula Devi, Vimana Venkateshwara Swamy, Bhashyankars, Narasimhaswamy deities in the Srivari Temple Complex.

 

Prominent among the dignitaries who accompanied the Prime Minister were Governor Sri E S L Narasimhan, Union Ministers: Sushil Kumar Shinde, Praful Patel, Vilasrao Deshmukh, Veerappa Moily and Panabaka Lakshmi. Among the state ministers were  Gade Venkat Reddy, Kanna Lakshminarayana, and D K Aruna and the new DGP Sri K Aravinda Rao.

 

The former TTD chairman Sri D K Adikeshavulu, local MLA Sri. Chiranjeevi, MP Sri.Chinta Mohan, EO Sri I Y R Krishna Rao, JEO Dr N Yuvaraj, and Chief of Security Sri. M K Singh and others.
