IMPORTANT TEMPLE ACTIVITIES DURING ANNUAL BRAHMOTSAVAMS _ శ్రీవారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో ముఖ్య ఘ‌ట్టాలు
TIRUMALA, 03 SEPTEMBER 2022: Among the 450 odd festivals that are being observed in Tirumala every year, the annual Brahmotsavams are considered to be the most important festival as it highlights the celestial grandeur of the Universal Supreme Lord, Sri Venkateswara Swamy in all His religious splendour and charm.
During this nine-day mega festival, Sri Malayappa Swamy, the processional deity of Sri Venkateswara, takes ride on 16 different carriers (including two chariots) and bless the huge turn of devotees who hails from across the country.
A glance at some of the main activities carried out during Brahmotsavams:
Aalaya Suddhi: Before commencement of annual brahmotsavams, the Tirumala temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy is cleansed in a traditional manner as per the norms suggested in Vaikhanasa Agama. This activity is called Alaya Suddhi.
Mritsangrahanam: The process of collecting the soil, on a day prior to the commencement of annual brahmotsavams
Dwajarohanam: Hoisting of Garuda Dhwaja, (a holy flag with the image of Garuda on temple mast) signalling the commencement of the nine-day mega religious festival. It is believed that Garuda invites the deities of all the worlds to take part in the annual Brahmotsavams
Vahana Sevas: Sri Malayappa is taken on a procession along four mada streets encircling the temple while a few carriers are accompanied by His two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. Every Vahanam has its own significance
Srivari Koluvu: This is the temple court performed after the procession inside the main temple by priests
Snapanam: Also known as Utsavanantara Snapanam, the processional deities are being rendered holy bath with aromatic ingredients in Ranganayakula Mandapam and this ritual is believed to be the “Stress buster” to the processional deity after day long hectic activity during the annual fete.
Choornabhishekam: Choornabhishekam involves bathing the lord and his consorts after anointing them with sandalwood powder that is performed on the last day
Chakrasnanam: On the last day of annual Brahmotsavams, along with the processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi and Bhudevi, the anthropomorphic form of Lord, Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar is rendered holy dip in the sacred waters of Swami Pushkarini
Devatodwasanam: On the last day of Brahmotsavam, the ritual of seeing off the rishis and Gods to Devalokam is called Devatodwasanam. It is performed after the daily archana. Lord Brahma is praised for organising the utsavam, and He is honoured by the temple priests and officials in a traditional manner by reciting relevant shlokas.
Dhwajavarohanam: The Garuda flag which was hoisted on the temple pillar on the first day of the annual Brahmotsavam, is lowered marking the successful completion of the nine day mega religious festival.

శ్రీవారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో ముఖ్య ఘ‌ట్టాలు
తిరుమల, 2022 సెప్టెంబరు 03: కలియుగ ప్రత్యక్ష దైవమైన శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామి వెలసిన తిరుమల దివ్యక్షేత్రంలో నిత్యకల్యాణం పచ్చతోరణం అన్న‌విధంగా అనుదినం ఒక ఉత్సవమే. స్వామివారికి ఏడాది పొడవునా 450కి పైగా ఉత్సవాలు నిర్వహిస్తున్నట్టు వివిధ పురాణాలు తెలుపుతున్నాయి. అయితే అన్ని ఉత్సవాల్లోకెల్లా అలంకారప్రియునికి అత్యంత ప్రియమైన ఉత్సవం బ్రహ్మోత్సవం. తిరుమల దివ్యక్షేత్రంలో ప్రతి ఏటా కన్యామాసం ఆశ్వయుజ మాస‌మైన‌పుడు విజయదశమి వరకు నవాహ్నికంగా నిర్వహించే ఉత్సవాలనే శ్రీవారి సాలకట్ల బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలని పురాణాలు చెబుతున్నాయి. ఈ మేరకు సెప్టెంబరు 27 నుండి అక్టోబరు 5వ తేదీ వరకు శ్రీవారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలను అంగరంగ వైభవంగా నిర్వహించేందుకు టిటిడి ఏర్పాట్లు చేపడుతోంది.
ఈ తొమ్మిది రోజుల ఉత్స‌వాల్లో శ్రీవారి ఉత్స‌వ‌మూర్తి అయిన శ్రీ మలయప్పస్వామివారు వివిధ ర‌కాలైన 16 వాహ‌నాల‌పై(రెండు ర‌థాలు క‌లిపి) మాడ వీధుల్లో విహ‌రించి భ‌క్తుల‌కు ద‌ర్శ‌న‌మిస్తారు. బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో ముఖ్య‌మైన కార్యక్రమాల సరళి ఈ విధంగా ఉంటుంది.
ఆలయశుద్ధి :
బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల ప్రారంభానికి ముందు వైఖాన‌స ఆగ‌మం ప్రకారం ఆలయాన్ని శుద్ధి చేసి(కోయిల్‌ ఆళ్వార్‌ తిరుమంజనం) చేస్తారు.
మృత్సంగ్రహణం :
బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల ప్రారంభం ముందునాడు పుట్టమన్ను సేకరించి భూమాతకు ముందుగా ప్రత్యేక పూజలు నిర్వహించి ఈ మన్నులో 9 రకాల వివిధ ధాన్యాలను నాటుతారు. నవధాన్యాలకు మొలకలొచ్చేవరకు నీరు పోస్తారు. అంకురాలను ఆరోపింపజేసే కార్యక్రమం కాబట్టి ఇది అంకురార్పణం అయింది. తదుపరి విష్వక్సేన, అనంత, సుదర్శన, గరుడాళ్వార్‌లను పూజిస్తారు.
ధ్వజారోహణం మరియు దేవతావాహనం :
శ్రీవారి ఆలయంలోని ధ్వజస్తంభంపై గరుడ చిత్రపటాన్ని ఎగురవేసి ధ్వజారోహణ కార్యక్రమాన్ని ఆలయం లోపల నడిమి పడికావలి చెంత అర్చకులు శాస్త్రోక్తంగా నిర్వహిస్తారు. తద్వారా స్వామివారి అత్యంత ప్రియు సఖుడైన గరుడుడు బ్రహ్మ, ఇంద్ర, యమ, అగ్ని, కుబేర, వాయు తదితర దేవతలనే కాకుండా వశిష్ట, విశ్వామిత్రాది సప్తఋషులను, ఇతర గణాలను, దేవతలను ఆహ్వానిస్తారని ప్రతీతి. దీనినే దేవతావాహనం అంటారు.
వాహనసేవలు :
శ్రీవారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలకు అత్యంత వన్నె చేకూర్చేవి వివిధ వాహనసేవలు. అలంకార తేజోవిలాసుడైన శ్రీ మలయప్పస్వామివారు పెద్దశేష, చిన్నశేష, హంస, సింహ, ముత్యపుపందిరి, కల్పవృక్ష, సర్వభూపాల, గరుడ, హనుమంత, గజ, సూర్యప్రభ, చంద్రప్రభ, అశ్వ వాహనాలు క‌లిపి 13 వాహనాలపైనే కాకుండా మోహినీ అవతారం, స్వర్ణరథం, రథోత్సవాల్లో కూడా తిరుమాడ వీధుల్లో విహ‌రించి భక్తులను అనుగ్రహిస్తారు. ఒక్కొక్క వాహనం ద్వారా భక్తజన కోటికి అద్భుతమైన సందేశాన్ని అందిస్తారు.
శ్రీవారి కొలువు :
శ్రీవారి ఆలయం లోపల బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల వాహనసేవల సమయంలో కొలువు నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీ. ఆలయ అర్చకులు ఈ సమయంలో స్వామివారికి నైవేద్యం సమర్పిస్తారు.
స్నపనం :
ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్నే ఉత్సవానంతర స్నపనంగా వ్యవహరిస్తారు. బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల సమయంలో ఉదయం ఒక వాహనసేవ తిరిగి రాత్రి ఒక వాహనసేవతో క్షణం తీరిక లేకుండా ఉండే మలయప్పస్వామివారికి రెండు వాహనసేవల మధ్య సమయంలో నిర్వహించే ప్రత్యేక సుగంధద్రవ్య అభిషేకమే స్నపనం. తద్వారా స్వామివారికి ఉపశమనం కలిగించి తిరిగి రాత్రి వాహనానికి నూతనోత్తేజంతో, ఉత్సాహంతో వాహనాన్ని అధిరోహించేందుకు సంసిద్ధం చేస్తుంది.
చూర్ణాభిషేకం:
బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో చివరి రోజు ఉదయం స్వామి, అమ్మవార్లకు సుగంధద్రవ్యంతో ఆచరించే స్నానమే చూర్ణాభిషేకం.
చక్రస్నానం:
బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల చివరి రోజు స్వామి పుష్క‌రిణిలో శ్రీవారి సుదర్శన చక్రానికి శాస్త్రోక్తంగా చక్రస్నానం నిర్వహిస్తారు.
దేవతోద్వాసన :
చివరిరోజు స్వామివారికి అర్చన నివేదించిన అనంతరం శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామి నవాహ్నిక బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో పాల్గొన్న ముక్కోటి దేవతలకు, ఋషిపుంగవులకు ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ కృతజ్ఞతాపూర్వకంగా వీడ్కోలు ప‌లుకుతారు. అదేవిధంగా శ్రీవారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలను అత్యద్భుతంగా నిర్వహించిన బ్రహ్మదేవునికి కూడా అర్చకస్వాములు సంబంధిత శ్లోకాల‌తో కృతజ్ఞతలను నివేదిస్తారు.
ధ్వజావరోహణం:
బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల్లో చివరి అంకం ధ్వజావరోహణం. ఆలయ ధ్వజస్తంభంపై తొలిరోజు రెపరెపలాడిన గరుడధ్వజ చిత్రపటాన్ని చివరిరోజు సాయంత్రం అవనతం చేయడంతో శ్రీవారి వార్షిక బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలు ఘనంగా ముగుస్తాయి.
