RENDERING THE PALLAKI BEARER SERVICE FROM THE PAST 24 YEARS

Tiruchanur, 12 December 2015: They may be drawing a monthly salary which crosses over six digits, but for the Sripada Sevakulu, they feel their have been blessed only when they carry the mighty palanquin of Goddess Padmavathi during Pallaki Utsavam or the Mohini Avataram during Karthika Brahmotsavams every year.

SRIPADA SEVAKAS:

They are not the regular Vahanam bearers but in fact graded officers from Railways, National Banks and also includes Young IT professionals. For them rendering service to Goddess give them immense pleasure and hence carry the hefty Pallaki on their shoulder with ease. Now they are popularly called “Sripada Sevakulu”.

ALMOST TWO AND A HALF DECADES:

They are 41in number lead by Sri Parthasaradhi Iyengar from Sri Rangam of Tamilnadu where they render similar service even in Sri Rangam. According to him, they have been rendering the service from the past 24 years in Tiruchanoor.

LESS OIL FOOD: Revealing about the secret of their energy Sri Iyengar said, we eat less oil and less spicy foods to maintain the physique which would help us to carry the palanquin with ease in spite of its massive weight. Our team applies ten days leave to render service during Brahmotsavams”, he maintained.
