KARTHEEKA DEEPOTSAVAM OBSERVED BY TTD WITH RELIGIOUS FERVOUR

OVER 50 THOUSANDS THRONG AMARA LINGESWARA IN GUNTUR

TIRUPATI, NOVEMBER 25: The temple city of Tirupati echoed with the devotees chanting “Om Namaha Shivaya” Panchakshari Maha Mantram on the auspicious occasion of Kartheeka Deepotsavam on Wednesday, even as TTD observed the fete with religious fervour in all its sub-temples apart from Kapileswara Swamy temple.

Earlier, this auspicious day, commenced by 3am with special puja and from 6am onwards, the devotees were allowed for sarva darshan. Meanwhile in the evening between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, Karthika Deepotsavam-the festival of celestial lights was observed in the auspicious constellation of Krittika Star on November 25. The entire temple premises in Kapilateertham is been illuminated with ghee lit lamps by women devotees.

In the night between 8pm and 8:30pm, the utsava murthies of Sri Kapileswara Swamy and Sri Kamakshi Ammavaru were brought to Sri Krishna Mandapam and “Jwala Thoranam”-Karthika Deeparadhana was performed in front of the processional deities in a stupendous manner. Tens of thousands of devotees took part in this celestial fete.

IN AMARAVATHI: In the new capital city of Amaravathi in Guntur, in the ancient and famous temple of Sri Amara Lingeswara Swamy eighth phase of Kartheeka Pournami Managudi was observed along with AP Endowments Department with religious pomp and gaiety. Over 50 thousands of devotees turned out for the Deepotsavam. TTD has provided one Lakh ghee lamps along with wicks to the devotees.
