KAREERI ISTHI, PARJANYA SANTHI, VARUANA YAGAM FOR GOOD RAINS-EO

TIRUMALA, JUNE 24:  The special ritual “Kareeri Isthi, Parajanya Santi, Varuna Yagam” is mulled by TTD with a noble aim to appease the Rain God for to shower good rains across the state which is at present reeling under severe heat waves, said TTD EO Sri MG Gopal.

The TTD EO took part in the Homam on Tuesday which began at Paruveta Mandapam near Gogarbham dam in Tirumala five days ago. Speaking on this occasion, the EO said, this six-day ritual will conclude with Purnahuti followed by Avabridesti in Swamy Pushkarini on Wednesday, June 25.

Meanwhile 32 vedic scholars hailing from different South Indian states, who are expert ghanapathis in this ritual began this Sangopanga Kareeristhi, Varunajapa, Parjanya Shanti homam on June 20 at Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala with Gayatri Devi Mantra Japa parayanam.

The ritwiks chanted the hymns from Sundarakanda, Rusyasringa Mahamantranusthanam, Virataparva Parayanam, Kareeristhi-Varunajapa-Parjanya Shanti mantras, Varunanuvataparayana from Chaturvedas, Samagra Parayana, Rig-Sukla Yajur-Krishna Yajur Taittiriya-Krishna Yajur Maitrayani-Samaveda Kautuma-Samaveda Jaimineya-Adharvana mantra parayanas during these six day Sangopanga Homam.

Meanwhile the Principal of Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala Sri KSS Avadhani said, the six day ritual will conclude with Purnahuti at 9.30am in Paruveta Mandapam on Wednesday followed by Avabridesthi in Swamy Pushkarini.
