KAREERISTHI-VARUNAJAPA-PARJANYASHANTI CONCLUDES WITH AVABHRIDESHTHI

Tirumala, 6 May 2015: The Yaga Trayam-Kareeristhi-Varunajapa-Parjanya Shanti concluded on a religious note with Avabhrideshthi Yagam in Tirumala on Wednesday.

The six-day yagam commenced in Vedagiri in Tirumala on May 1 to appease the Rain God to shower His blessings in the form of good rains in the right season at the right time for the prosperity of the entire nation.

About 32 Ritwiks took part in this religious fete during these six days and performed Yaga reciting the mantras from Chaturvedas.

On the final day, the Ritwiks submerged up to their waist level in the holy waters of Swarmi Pushkarini where in the sacred materials used in Yagam were immersed chanting veda mantras marking the culmination of the religious ceremony.
