KARTHIKA DEEPOTSAVAM PERFORMED WITH RELIGIOUS ECSTASY IN SRI KT

Tirupati, 5 December 2014: The auspicious festival of “Karthika Deepotsavam” has been performed with religious ecstasy as the Lord Shiva temple in Kapilateertham at Tirupati reverberated amidst the chanting of Shiva Nama-“Hara Hara Mahadeva Sambho Shankara” by scores of devotees thronging the temple on Friday evening.

The women devotees, lit the ghee lamps in the temple tank and performed special puja on the day of Karthika Deepam which is also called “Krittika Deepotsavam”. The temple priests lit lamps inside Garbhalayam, over the top of the temple, on the hill top. Tens of thousands of devotees were enthralled to witness the lamp lit on the top of the hill above the Kapilateertham water falls which happens only on this auspicious occasion in a year.

Meanwhile, the a Shiva Linga made out of the lights of mud lamps and lit in the temple premises on this occasion which stood as a special attraction.

TTD Joint Executive Officer Sri Pola Bhaskar, VGO Sri Raveendar Reddy, DyEO Sri Balaji and others took part.
