KARTHIKA VANABHOJANAM IN PARUVETA MANDAPAM ON DECEMBER 6

Tirumala, 5, December 2015: The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) is all set for community dining as a part of Karthika Vanabhojanotsavam in Tirumala on December 6 in the premises of Paruveta Mandapam, located in the lush green forests of Seshachala ranges.

Every year TTD holds this fete in a religious way in Paruveta Mandapam in Tirumala as it is very auspicious to conduct community dining in the sacred month of Karthika as per Hindu Sanatana Dharma.

In this connection, the processional deities of Sri Malayappa Swamy and His consorts will be brought to the Paruveta Mandapam and snapana Tirumanjanam will be rendered between 11am to 1pm. Later the pilgrim devotees will be served annaprasadam between 1pm to 3pm. TTD has also arranged cultural programmes to match the occasion.

Meanwhile, as per the available historical evidences, this festival was introduced by Sri Pedda Tirumalacharya, elder son of saint poet Tallapaka Annamacharya some five hundred years ago and was stopped in the middle due to unknown reasons. However, TTD revived this fete in 2010 and since then has been observing it in a grand manner every year.

TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasanthotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva in view of the festival on Sunday.
