KARTHIKA VANABHOJANAM ON NOV 9

Tirumala, 7 November 2014: The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTDs) is all set for “Karthika Vanabhojanam” at Paruveta Mandapam in Tirumala on November 9.

Usually, as per Hindu tradition, community dining is considered to be one of the most auspicious events, especially during the month of Karthika. This festival was in vogue in 15th Century. TTD has revived this special event of Karthika Vanabhojanam four years ago and has been celebrating with great religious fervour since then.

On this day, the processional deities will be brought from the temple on a ceremonious procession to Paruveta Mandapam located in the deep forests at Tirumala and Snapanam Tirumanjanam will be performed from 11am to 12.30pm with aromatic water followed by milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric paste and finally sandal paste.

Later thousands of pilgrims take part in the community dining organised by TTD.

Meanwhile TTD cancelled all arjitha sevas following this religious event on that day
