KOIL ALWAR TIRUMANJANAM AT SRI PAT ON NOV 11

TIRUPATI, 10 November 2014: As the annual brahmotsavams of Goddess Sri Padmavathi Devi at Tiruchanoor is all set to commence from November 19, as a prelude to the mega religious event, the traditional temple cleansing activity-
Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will take place in the temple on November 11.

The entire temple including walls, roof, sub-shrines, potu, puja vessels and other materials will be cleansed thoroughly by the staff from 6am to 9am. After wards an aromatic mixture with an amalgamation of Sandalwood paste, turmeric, kichiligadda(a root vegetable which has a nice aroma) etc. is prepared in huge quantities and will be smeared on walls and roof and other parts of the temple as a mark of temple purification ritual.

While this mission is underway, the main deity will be completely covered with a cloth. After the completion of the cleansing activity only, the cloth will be removed and special puja will be performed. Later from 9.30am on wards the devotees will be allowed for Sarva Darshan.
