KOIL ALWAR TIRUMANJANAM AT SRI PAT

Tiruchnaur, 7 September 2016: The the sacred ritual of Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam was today at the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple as part of the at the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple three day event of Pavitrotsavam from September 14-16.

As per the agama traditions the morning rituals of Suprabatham and Sahasra Namarchana were performed at the Sri PAT. The Thirumanjanam (meaning cleansing and purification) exercise began at the temple complex including cleaning of the roof, walls, sanctum of the temple and also the puja utensils with holy water and sprinkling of scented water laced with herbal cleansers like Namakopu, Sri churnam, Kasturi, turmeric, green leaves, crystal karpooram, sandal powder, kumkum and Kokkiligadda etc.

Devotees were allowed for darshan after the ritual after 9.30am. Similarly the TTD has suspended arjita sevas like Astottara Kalasha abhishekam and Unjal seva and Kalyanotsavam on Wednesday.

Temple DyEO Sri Chinnamgari Ramana, DyEO (Services) Sri Vijaya Sarathi, AEO Sri Radhakrishna, priests and large number of devotees participated in the celestial event.
