PAVITHROTSAVAM AT SRI PAT FROM SEP 14 TO 16

Tiruchanur, 7 September 2016: TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao on Wednesday released the posters of the annual pavitrotsavams of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in his chambers’ at TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati. The holy event of Pavitrotsavam will be performed at Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanur from September 14-16 and Ankurarpanam for same is being held on September 13.

As per Hindu traditions entering temples during mourning periods etc is prohibited and the three day purification event of Pavitrotsavam is performed to ward off impact of such inadvertent happenings in the temple . Temple cleaning and also Punyahavachanam are also performed.

On September 14 Pavitra pratistha and on September 15th Pavitra samarpana and Maha poornahuti will be performed on September 15. Interested devotee couple could participate in the event with a ticket of Rs.750 for which they will get blessings of Goddess along with two laddus and two vadas as prasadam.

In view of the holy event, the TTD has suspended all arjita sevas at Sri PAT from September 13- 16. Kalyanotsavam and Unjal seva on September 13,
and 14, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal seva and Tiruppavadai seva on September 15 and Kalyanotsavam, Lakshmi puja and Unjal seva on September 16.

Devotional music and harikatha will be organised by the HDPP and Annamacharya Project while the Dasa Sahitya project will conduct bhajans during the event.
