LANKAN PM OFFERS PRAYERS IN TIRUMALA TEMPLE

Tirumala, 22 December,2016: Sri Lanka Prime Minister Sri Ranil Wikramasinghe along with his spouse Smt Maitree Wikramasinghe offered prayers at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala on Thursday morning.

The Srilankan PM was accorded a warm reception with on his arrival to the temple by the TTD Trust Board Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy, Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao and Tirumala JEO KS Srinivasa raju. He was later escorted into the sanctum sanctorum of the hill temple where he offered his prayers.

While the priests honoured him with the silk vastram of the deity after Vedasirvachanam, the authorities presented him with the laddu prasadam and memento.

Speaking on this occasion he said, his visit is purely personal. “The relationship between India and Sri Lanka is getting stronger day by day and I prayed Lord for the welfare of the people”, he added.
