NEW TEMPLE PILLAR CONSECRATED IN APPALYAGUNTA
Appalayagunta, 22 December 2016: The new temple pillar was consecrated in Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, about 25km from Tirupati on Thursday.
Speaking to media, the TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao said, about Rs.2.5cr has been sanctioned towards the developmental works of this famed temple which includes construction of compound, shed, queue lines etc. “As the pilgrims number to the temple is gradually increasing especially during special occasions like New Year, Vaikuntha Ekadasi etc. we are making elaborate arrangements for this temple for the sake of multitude of devotees”, the EO added.
Earlier, Jeeva Dhwaja Sthambha Sthapana took place in the temple, where a new pillar was consecrated as per agama vidhi. As a part of it, the fete began with Viswaksena Puja followed by Punyaha Vachanam, Panchagavyaradhana, Vastu Homam, Vastu Suddhi, Panchagavya Suddhi, Visesha Homam and concluded with Purnahuti.
Special Abhishekam was also performed to Dhwajasthambham. In this Ratnanyasam was performed in which nine precious stones, nine cereals, five types of steel, Asthadhatuvu were offered in the pit dig to install the massive pillar which measured 30feet from ground while another six feet was ceiled inside the pit to give a strong suspension to the massive pillar.
Temple Special Grade DyEO Sri Munirathnam Reddy, EE Sri Venugopal, AEO Sri Radhakrishna, Superintendent Sri Pavan Kumar, temple inspector Sri Srinivasulu and others were also present.
