LORD KALYANA VENKATESWARA ENTHRALS PILGRIMS IN RADHAROHANA MAHOTSAVAM

Srinivasa Mangapuram, 17 February 2015: Tens of thousands of devotees are awestruck to witness the charm of Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy flanked by His two consorts on His either sides on the mighty Ratham, on the penultimate day of annual Brahmotsavams in Srinivasa Mangapuram on Tuesday.

The Lord is taken out for a celestial ride along the starts encircling the shrine between 8 am to 9.30am.

Women, men, children, aged of all ages competed to pull the mammoth chariot on this auspicious occasion.

According to Puranas, human body is considered to be chariot, Wisdom the charioteer, soul the clutches and senses as the horses that pull the cart. On the whole, the supreme almighty preaches that one has to control his or her senses in order to pull the body which is described as chariot using wisdom to lead a peaceful life. Hence Rathotsavam is considered to be one of the most important religious fetes during Brahmotsavams.

Meanwhile, the cultural programmes by Bhajan troupes in front of the chariot stood as special attraction.

TTD JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, Chandragiri MLA Sri Chavireddy Bhaskar Reddy, ACSO Sri Sivakumar Reddy, Suptd Engineers Sri Sudhakar Rao, Sri Ramachandra Reddy, VGO Sri Raveendra Reddy, DyEO Sri Sridhar, AEO Sri Dhanajeyulu, Temple Staff and large number of devotees took part.
