LOTUS RITUAL PERFORMED TO LORD VENKATESWARA

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 3 2015: As a part of the ongoing nine-day religious fete of Sri VenkateswaraVaibhavotsavams in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, the denizens were delighted to witness the rare, (weekly ritual that is being observed in Tirumala every Tuesday) Lotus ritual-Astadala PadaPadmaradhana Seva on Tuesday.

After the second bell, this ritual was conducted with 108 lotuses. The archaka commenced the puja by offering dhupa(arti stick) and dipa(lit the lamp) to the main deity. Then he recited the 108 divine names (108) of the Lord. While uttering each name of the Lord, one lotus flower was offered at the celestial feet of the lord.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, there will special abhishekam called Sahasra Kalasabhishekam where the utsava murthis will be offered celestial bath with 1008 water pots signifying the name of the ritual.
