MANAGUDI TO BE PERFORMED IN 12,041 TEMPLES ACROSS THE STATE-TTD JEO

TIRUMALA, JULY 23: The ambitious project taken up jointly by TTD and AP Endowments Department, Magudi which has been scheduled to take place on the auspicious occasion of Shravana Pournami on August 2, will be performed across 12,041 temples in the state, said TTD Joint EO Sri KS Srinivasa Raju.
 
Speaking to media persons after formally flagging off the vehicles which are supposed to despatch the sacred items cartons to their respective destinations in Tirumala on Monday evening at Asthanam Mandapam, he said the programme has received a massive response from the masses. West Godavari toppled the chart with this festival being performed across 2,321 temples in this district while Secunderabad recorded the least with 64 temples, he maintained. The JEO said about 1lakh posters, 15 lakh pamphlets have been distributed to various parts of the state for publicity purpose.
 
Earlier in the evening at 3pm, the JEO accompanied by other officers carried the sacred items including Kankanam, Vastrams, Turmeric, Kumkum etc. over head and took them to Srivari temple from Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple and placed the items at the holy feet of the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara.
 
Deputy EOs Sri Munirathnam Reddy, Sri Umapathy Reddy, Sri Balaji, GM Sri Sesha Reddy, HDPP Secretary Sri Venkat Reddy, Special Officer Sri Raghunath and others were also present.
