MANAGUDI VANABHOJANAM ON NOVEMBER 11 AND KARTHIKA VANABHOJANAM ON NOVEMBER 24

Tirumala, Nov 6, 2013: The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is all set to perform two Vanabhojanotsavams this yearincluding the “Managudi” Vanabhojanam on November 11 and the annual karthika Vanabhojanotsavam on November 24.

TTD has began the celebration of annual Vanabhojanotsavam in the holy month of Karthika since 2010 where in the processional deity of Lord Malayappa mounted atop the gaja vahanam was carried out in a grand procession to the venue of  Parveta mandapam – situated about two kilometres from the hill temple amidst thick forests of Tirumala. On the other hand the idols of his two divine consorts Sri devi and Bhoo devi will also be brought to the venue on a tastefully decorated ivory palanquin where the Snapana Tirumanjanam is performed followed by Karthika Vanabhojanotsavam.

This year, in connection with the fourth phase of Managudi programme scheduled to take place on November 17, the Managudi Karthika Masa Vanabhojanam will be observed on November 11 in Paruveta Mandapam in Tirumala under the aegis of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad wing of TTD.

Meanwhile according to Skanda Purana, the community dining in the auspicious month of Karthika will help the pilgrims get free from all sins they have committed either knowingly or unknowingly.

TTD top brass officials and pilgrims will take part in this community dining festival in Tirumala on these two occasions.
