“MARRIAGE PROCEEDINGS TO BE MADE ON-LINE SOON”-TTD EO

TIRUMALA, FEB 25: After streamlining the darshan, accommodation and laddu prasadam distribution using the best of technology, the temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is now mulling for on-line booking of marriages in Tirumala to perform the wed lock with more transparency and efficiency.

Accordingly the TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao who had inspected the mass marriages that were held in Kalyana Vedika at Tirumala on Thursday evening told media persons that TTD is proving to be a boon to perform marriages in the abode of Lord Venkateswara at minimum fee of Rs.800 per marriage. “Apart from this the newly wed couple along with their parents are having darshan of Lord Venkateswara soon after tying the knot and receiving the blessings of Almighty. We are now contemplating to streamline the existing system further using technology”, he added.

He said, “if the marriage bookings are made on-line, more number of pilgrims will get an opportunity to get united at the holy feet of Lord. We will draw a line in this regard in a week or ten days time after negotiating with the concerned heads”, he added.

Earlier, the EO blessed all the newly wed couples and presented the Laddu and Vada prasadam of Lord Venkateswara much to their pleasure.

Meanwhile 69 couples have tied the knot on the auspicious muhurat on Thursday.

Temple DyEO Sri C Ramana, Annaprasadam DyEO Sri Venugopal, VGO Sri Ravinder Reddy and other officers were also present.
