NEW LADDU TRAY CLEANSING MACHINE SOON FOR TIRUMALA

TIRUMALA, JUNE 7: To speed up the cleansing process of laddu trays, TTD is all set to purchase a hot water and steam laddu tray cleansing machine at a cost of Rs.10 lakhs for Tirumala temple, over the instructions of TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao.

This machine will clean up 500 trays in one hour with hot water and steam there by enhancing hygiene and fast cleaning mechanism.

It may be mentioned here that TTD prepares over three lakh laddus and holds a stock of another three lakhs every day to meet the pilgrim demand. To clean the trays is not only a laborious work but also a time consuming process. To minimise the time taking and enhance hygienic methods of cleaning, TTD has decided to procure a Laddu Tray cleansing machine.

This decision has come out during the weekly review meeting by TTD EO with senior officers of Tirumala at Annamaiah Bhavan on Tuesday.

The EO also suggested the engineering wing to see that there is no water logging conditions prevail inside Tirumala Shrine, in mada streets and near queue lines during the ensuing rainy season.

Later the EO instructed the vigilance wing to plan much more pilgrim friendly luggage dispatch system as the existing mechanism is forcing pilgrim to wait for over an hour to get back his deposited luggage after completing darshan. “Try to invent and design a system where the pilgrim gets his baggage in five to ten minutes”, he added.

The EO later ordered the IT Wing to think of coming out with an application of digital signatures of VIPs to restrict the middlemen menace and to enhance transparency in the room allotment, seva tickets and donor privileges.
