OVER 1100 TRIBES TREK ALIPIRI FOOT PATH

Tirupati, Dec 20: About 1100 tribes hailing from East Godavari and Araku valley trekked the Alipiri Footpath route on Friday evening.

Led by Pallala Surya Devi of Om Brahmasri Sri Shakti Venkateswara Girijana Sampradaya Hindu Suryanarayana Seva Sangam, the group of tribes alighted Alipiri footpath chanting Govinda Nama and singing bhajans.

Speaking on this occasion Smt Devi said, the tribes have overcome the threat of proselytisation in their remote villages. “With the encouragement of Tirupati JEO Sri Pola Bhaskar, today our team got a rare opportunity to trek the sacred Alipiri footpath route. I wholeheartedly thank TTD management and HDPP for their support”, she maintained.

Earlier they were accorded warm welcome by Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad Dy E O Sri Umapathi Reddy who distributed them Vishnu Sahasranama, Govinda Nama pamphlets, Srivari Stickers, Kankanams etc.
